Creator FAQ

Real questions from real creators.

Everything artists have asked us so far — answered straight, in writing. If your question isn't here, email creators@packx.io and a real person answers.

Money

The fee, the price, and getting paid.

What does PackX cost me?

Nothing up front. No setup fee, no monthly fee, and no buyer fee added at checkout — your fans pay exactly the price you set. PackX takes a flat 7.5% cut of sales, so we only make money when your drop does. On a $10 pack, roughly $8.65 reaches you after standard card processing; on a $50 design, about $44.50.

Do I have to discount my work to fit a “pack”?

No. You set the price. If your designs usually go for $55, your pack is $55 and the fan pays $55. We'd never ask you to price your work down to fit our format.

How do payouts work — and do I hand PackX my bank details?

You never give PackX your banking details. Payouts run through Stripe: you connect your own account through Stripe's secure flow, so your details live with Stripe, never with us. Your share settles automatically when a fan opens their pack — and if a pack sits unopened, your share still settles after a short buffer, so you're never left waiting on a buyer.

What if Stripe doesn’t cover my country?

We'll work out a payout path that fits you — we already pay creators outside Stripe's coverage, and we sort it out together before your drop goes live. Just mention where you're based when you write us.

Your work, your rights

It stays yours. All of it.

Who owns the art?

You do. PackX doesn't take ownership of your artwork — not when you upload it, not when a fan opens it. We're the storefront, the randomized pull, and the delivery. Nothing more.

Is PackX exclusive?

No. Keep selling and using your work anywhere else you like, exactly as you do now.

Is generative AI involved in any way?

No. PackX never generates, alters, or trains on your work — the product runs the storefront, the pull, and the delivery, and that's it. Every real drop is built entirely from the creator's own hand-made work, credited to them by name on the drop page.

I sell one-of-a-kinds — adopts, character designs. Do they stay one-of-a-kind?

Yes, and it's enforced by the platform, not by promise. Set a design as one-of-a-kind and it can be pulled exactly once: opened, assigned to one owner, and gone from the pool for good. Never duplicated, never re-sold, never handed to anyone else. One design, one owner — the way your own terms already work.

How drops work

What fans get, and what you can build.

What does a fan actually get when they open a pack?

The real files you'd normally send — sized PNGs, a ready-to-use ZIP, .mp3 voice lines — delivered the moment the pack opens, alongside a collection page where their pulls live. Not a picture locked inside our app: the actual, usable thing you made.

Can I put custom slots (YCH or commission-style rewards) in a pack?

Yes. A fan who pulls a custom slot gets a claim ticket with instructions for reaching you with their references. You set the claim window on the ticket — and you're paid when the pack is opened, not when the buyer claims, so a vanished buyer never costs you your time.

Do you do physical goods — stickers, pins, merch?

Not in the beta: it's digital collectibles only, and we say so up front. Physical rewards are the direction we want to grow, but we only sell what's real today.

Can fans resell or trade what they pull?

No. There's no resale and no secondary market. Fans buy your work to keep it — collecting, not flipping.

Fairness

Honest by design.

Isn’t this just gambling?

It's the question we take most seriously, and it shaped how PackX is built. Every pack always contains a real piece of the creator's work — there are no empty pulls and no losing. The creator sets the odds and every buyer sees them before paying. There's no resale market, so there's nothing to speculate on or cash out. And PackX is 18+ from day one. Collecting, not a casino — and if the mechanic still isn't for you, we genuinely respect that.

How are the odds and fairness guaranteed?

Every drop runs on an automated, tamper-proof draw. Your rarity odds are locked in before the drop goes live, shown to every fan before they pay, and executed by the system — no hand on the scale, ever. Exact counts are fixed like a sealed booster box: every reward is handed out exactly once, and a one-of-one stays one-of-one.

Where can I read the actual terms?

Right here: Terms of Service and Privacy. If anything in them worries you, ask us — a real person answers.

Getting started

No account needed to look around.

Do I need a big audience?

We're honest about this: PackX isn't a discovery marketplace, and we won't pretend we bring an independent crowd yet. Your drop sells to the community you already have — at any size. If a few dozen people genuinely love your work, a drop can be a real event; if your crowd is bigger, the drop scales with it. We size the drop to your crowd, and we spotlight every creator drop on PackX's own channels.

How many creators are on PackX right now?

A handful — a hand-picked first cohort, on purpose, with the first creator drops live now. Small enough that every drop gets our full attention, which is the whole point of joining this early.

Do I have to sign up just to look?

No. The demo shows the whole buy-and-open flow, and there are live creator drops you can browse. If you're curious what your work would look like, we're happy to mock up a concept — with your permission, no account needed.

What’s onboarding actually like?

You create your account (a simple Google sign-in), connect your payouts through Stripe, and then we design your first drop with you — the pack layout, pricing, and rarities, step by step. You're never alone in a dashboard: we're hands-on and available the whole way, and a real person reviews every drop before it goes live.
